Fast forward to 2020 and the first major snowfall; I left Seattle at 2am and started the trek north to the Canadian border. After beating the plows, I made a “parking spot” that I knew I would likely need to dig myself out of later. I then trudged through 3 feet of snow to capture the beautiful morning sunrise behind Mt. Shuksan. To me, there is something magical about fresh snow and colorful winter skies!

The Mt. Baker Ski Area holds the world record for most snow in one season, in which 1,140 inches or 95 feet fell during the winter of 1998-1999.
